Refined Background

Refined is an art group dedicated to improving the skills of its members via two ways. The first way is introducting them to a community of like minded people. The second way is pitting them against each other.

The Refined Forums were set up a short time ago, and we currently have 15 members altogether, with a few on DA. The Admin thought it would be a good idea to get new recruits on DA, thus this account was set up.

The ezine works on an issue basis. Every two months or so, the members are issued a brief, or a theme which they stick to, and create something. It can be anything; photographic, manipulated, painted, traditional, digital, anything. But only the best are showcased on the official Refined website. You can see what kind of work our members produce in our DA Gallery.

Want To Join?

Anyone and anyone can join the Refined Forums, and our DA Group. However, even if you think you have no "skill", you still have to be serious about art, and love art. Keep in mind that only the good work will be submitted. If you want to join the forums, then visit Refined here: [link]

To join the DA Group, you must be a member of the forums, and a member of DA. Send a note to us with the subject of "Membership", and a link to the username you have on the Forums. We will check it out, note you back, and add your name and icon to the members list.

Current Brief

The issue theme is breaking forth. Guys, this is your chance to come out of yourself so we can all see what your made of. Follow this theme as loosly as you want, but there are some other rules to keep in mind:

Violence / nudity is all good, but if a user submitts art work that spreads hate, or whatever, he/she will be suspended.

Credit must be given where its due. If you use stock photos / brushes, credit the original artist.

The word refined does not have to feature - these images are yours.

Please add invisible watermarks, if you feel the need to.

Most of all HAVE FUN!!!

This issue will be pretty easy, but expect to see some more rules implemented later on

Submitting Work

Submitting work on the forums is easy - just post it in the correct brief. If you want our work to show on DA, then note this account with the link to the piece. If we love it, we will add it to our gallery, and link back to you.
